Today was a snow day on the mountain and we had great fun on our fat boy skis. Started off with a cruiser down the piste off Tracouet, even though we were not one one of the first lifts we still found fresh snow to enjoy especially round the margins of the run. Decided to then go and play in the trees and found a lot of untracked areas. Only saw 2 other people in the trees so we had the area to ourselves. Great, especially as the snow was light and deep.
Managed to find a space in the picnic area at Tracouet, sarnies were yummy and much nicer than having to queue for ages with everyone else trying to get their lunch at exorbitant prices! Thought we would then head over to Siviez, however the slope to our right as we were taking the pomma up looked in great shape so we changed our minds and decided to explore there instead. It was easy to get to along the access road off the top of the lift and we found that if we went a bit further along than most other trails we had some fantastic powder to ski down through. Managed to loop the area 5 times before we both agreed our legs were getting tired and a hot chocolate would be nice! Went to Bob’s bar on the run down to the apartment and had a lovely seat inside by the fire where we could see the Olympic luge races – mental sport!
Great powder ski day and hopefully more of the same tomorrow.
